YourGardenShow.com - The social network for gardeners, by gardeners
At YourGardenShow, we believe that gardens and their cultivators can help to create a more sustainable world. By joining forces with a wide range of organizations, companies and educational institutions, we strive to create long-term and wide-reaching partnerships that will beneficially impact our communities. Together we can improve our world - through our backyards, at our schools, in farmers fields and public spaces.

Missouri Botanical Gardens (MOBOT) and Cornell University
12,000+ plant database
Two of the most prestigious, noncommercial plant databases support gardeners on YourGardenShow. Missouri Botanical Garden, one of the nation’s oldest botanical gardens, supplies 6,100 ornamental and fruiting plant descriptions and photos, and Cornell University details 6,000 vegetable varieties onsite, with both common and scientific names.
USA - National Phenology Network (USA-NPN)
YourGardenShow also serves as the USA - National Phenology Network’s social media site. USA-NPN is affiliated with some of the top atmospheric and ecological organizations in the world, including public agencies, Native American tribes, non-governmental organizations, specialized networks, and academic institutions, including the University of California system, Arbor Day Foundation, EPA, U.S. Fish and Wildlife, National Park Service, NASA, NOAA, USGS among others.
Your Garden Show has joined forces with The Great Sunflower Project to help find out what is happening with our bees, because bees - in the wild, near farms, even in towns and cities - appear to be disappearing. Bees and other pollinators are responsible for one third of all food in the U.S.A. Other important natural products, like medicines, also depend on a thriving local bee community. Become a Citizen Scientist and join the effort to help our pollinators!
YourGardenShow has opened another portal to its social network for gardeners on the Mother Earth News website. The longest-running sustainable-lifestyle magazine, Mother Earth News provides wide-ranging, expert editorial coverage of organic foods, country living, green transportation, renewable energy, natural health and green building.
YourGardenShow maintains a presence on the meteorology blogs of Weather Underground, which has developed the world's largest network of personal weather stations (almost 19,000 stations in the US and over 13,000 across the rest of the world) to provide the most localized weather conditions available.

The USDA and the People's Garden
YourGardenShow was invited to exhibit along with USDA agencies and the People's Garden for the June 2011 Pollinator Week Celebration on the National Mall in Washington D.C., in an event featuring activities and exhibits on bees, birds, butterflies, bats and beetles that highlighted the work of USDA agencies and its partners. YourGardenShow presented the Great Sunflower Project and the North American Bee Count, and provided "bee-magnet" sunflower seed packets, courtesy of Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds.
YourGardenShow was an exhibitor at the 2010 San Francisco Spring and Fall Green Festivals. A project of Green America and Global Exchange, Green Festival® celebrates what's working in our communities and around the world - for people, business and the environment. It's where individuals and business and community leaders come together to discuss critical issues that impact us at home and abroad, finding sustainable solutions to help make our lives healthier socially, economically and environmentally.
