This is a self-seeding plant. It does best in arid, rock soils, with proper drainage. May be cultivated vegetatively. If purchased as seed, it will grow true.
The Tickseed, also known as Domino, is a tall, brightly colored plant. The flower is bright yellow with a maroon eye. The flower itself is large, 2” in diameter, and solitary. It is very similar in appearance to an oversized daisy. The bloom tops a stem which rises majestically to between 1 to 1.5”. The spread is the same dimension as its height.
Prefers full sun, this plant is very tolerant of heat, humidity and drought. It is short-lived. To maintain the plant’s heartiness, division is necessary every 2-3 years.
