How it Works Video Series
Your Show is your garden and your garden activities - this includes a media slideshow Carousel featuring photos and videos of your garden, and your Glog (garden log) activity which can be anything from sharing images, garden tips and comments to adding journal entries and observations representing the different aspects of your garden.
A "garden" can be a backyard garden, a public garden, a school garden, a vegetable or flower garden, a meditation garden, a beneficial insect garden - any type, size or shape of garden you can imagine. We're looking forward to seeing your garden and especially any garden projects you have to share - that's what YourGardenShow is all about. If you don't have a garden you can still take part - just sign up as a "Garden appreciator" or share a public garden, community space or window box.
From the MAIN MENU BAR go to: TOOLBOX > DASHBOARD. Then, on the right hand side of your Dashboard in the "Gardens you tend" panel, click the green "Add a new garden" button.
You can create and feature as many gardens as you like. You can also feature different aspects of your garden in a single garden.
Naturally you can show your entire garden, but also individual plants, gardening projects, plus tips and tutorials to share and exchange with other gardeners.
From the MAIN MENU BAR go to: TOOLBOX > DASHBOARD. Then, on the right hand side of your Dashboard in the "Gardens you tend" panel, click on your garden image or garden name and you'll arrive at your garden page.
From the MAIN MENU BAR go to: TOOLBOX > DASHBOARD. Then, on the right hand side of your Dashboard in the "Gardens you tend" panel, click on your garden image or garden name and you'll arrive at your garden page. To the right of your garden's slideshow Carousel you will see the "About this garden" panel. Click the green pencil-tip icon to edit your garden info.
Your Dashboard is central to all your activities on the site. Consider it your own home base on the site. Here you will find links to the "Gardens you tend," activity updates on the gardens you follow, links to plant info, an Almanac of planting tips and info on weather conditions. We'll soon be adding more online tools and hyperlocalized gardening resources.
Go to the MAIN MENU BAR > GARDENS. This will take you to the Gardens Directory page. Simply click on a preview image of any garden that catches your eye. Or you can "Find gardens that match your growing conditions" or "Find gardens in your area" by making a number of selections on the right hand side of the page.
Once you've made a selection to view a garden (see above), just scroll down the page until you see a Glog activity update that interests you. Click on "See full post" and you will arrive at a new page. Scroll down the page until you see a text entry box. Feel free to add any information or commentary that would enhance that particular garden experience for other members of YGS. Then, click the green "Add to discussion" or "Comment" button to post your comment.
You can also click directly on an individual photo or video in a slideshow Carousel to get to the full-view mode where you can leave a comment as well.
