Can lawn irrigation cause difficulties?
Watering is not a cure for any problem other than drought, and, indeed, it can intensify disease. Overwatering can result in more problems than no watering at all; it especially encourages unwanted wet-habitat vegetation (annual bluegrass, volunteer bent grass, nut sedge, Poa trivialis, etc.) at the expense of the lawn grass.
