Video: Tom launches the contest VOTING and congratulates Grow It Forward participants. Plus, he's got some related updates about how you can share what you've learned this year growing heirlooms in your local area, and how we can create a cooperative cookbook of all of our harvest recipes. Stay tuned!

Great video Tom, good to see you again.  :)  The trip to the Heirloom Gardeners Show is sounding a bit scary....  but being as you make so many of these videos in front of all of us, you will be up to the event...  The winners.... they could be a little nervous, but I am sure they will get over it and have a great time!      The E-Cookbook sounds wonderful!  I can't tell you enough and thank the other gardeners enough, for all the wonderful recipes that I have had the opportunity to make and serve to my family.  Eating around here has become a whole lot more fun.  We were really in quite a rut, and didn't know it, till we started trying some of the wonderful dishes and sides that people have recommended.  We made and ate Nasturtium Butter (Thanks Rori) for the second night in a row, last night!  We love it, and never would have tried it without YGS.  So, Three Cheers for a Great Site, Great Gardeners and Great Food to be shared by all....    Thank you, John and Marcy  :)

@JMTKMS: I was thinking the same thing - like what to do on stage at a big event! Funny. Tom forgets that some of us function best out of the limelight - that's true even for busy bees like me!

You know, it really just depends on the winner - whoever wins can decide for themselves how visible (or invisible) they want to be at the event. Having been to both the Baker Creek Seed Bank in Petaluma, California, and last year's Expo, I can tell you that the Baker Creek crew and those attending their events are really down to earth (as you might expect!). Plus the winner gets to meet Tom :)

@The-Busy-Bee:  Meeting Tom would be fun.  After following the "Name that Plant" conversations, I see that he really has quite the sense of humor!  Meeting all the YSG crew  and the Baker Creek staff would be a pleasure.  I am sure who ever does win the Grand Prize, will be tickled pink to be a part of such a great function.

@Kristen: Does that mean that I have to get busy on a green thumbs "up" or "down" button?

Congratulations to all the heirloom gardeners!  The heirloom festival is going to be great.  It's in one of my favorite parts of California.  Can't wait to start trying those recipes!

Great video Tom! I think the cookbook is a great idea... I will contribute as many recipes as I can think of with my home grown goodies. This time I will take pictures too! This has been so much fun for the past several months. I am so happy the fun will continue on YGS! Kudos to all of you for making this happen! :)
