Video: How home gardeners and small seed companies are regaining control of our seed supply and helping to preserve our food source heritage. Jere Gettle talks about how he started the Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Co.

The Grow It Forward heirloom gardens contribute to a growing community knowledge base that we can all benefit from in the next growing season. Have a look at the Grow It Forward contest gardens and vote for the ones you like (grand prize is a trip to the National Heirloom Exposition in California this September).

We could not be happier with all of our heirloom seeds from Baker Creek. Not only do they taste incredible, but look how stunning they are! You never see anything like that in the grocery store!

When I plant and save heirloom seeds I know that I am doing my part to ensure food security for generations to come. I love knowing that the seeds my grandchildren will plant will have come down the line from the seeds I plant today. Thanks Baker Creek and YGS for getting the word out there; I hope you guys Grow It Forward every year.

Thanks Jere and the rest of the Baker Creek team!  We're glad that you are leading the pack with regard to saving heirlooms.  I'll be sure to do my part by ordering them each year.
