Plant the rows crosswise; 14 feet of carrots, beets, leaf lettuce, or other greens are enough for one planting. For beans and other vegetables of which larger amounts are wanted, plant two or three 14-foot rows. Keep tall-growing sorts, like tomatoes, corn, or pole beans, at one end, preferably north or west. |
