What is the secret of growing eggplants successfully?

Don't grow the young plants too fast until the fruit is set. The use of Blossom Set will help. Grow them on well-aerated soil that is amply supplied with lime. Use plenty of compost in holes when setting out and keep well watered. If subjected to temperatures below 50° F., flowers will drop off and no fruit will set; the same result will occur at temperatures above 90° F.
