ëFozam, commonly sold under the trade name of FOXFIRE, is a broad-spreading, white-flowered crabapple tree that typically matures to 12-15 tall with a slightly wider spread. Single white flowers bloom in spring (April in St. Louis). Flowers are followed by bright red crabapples (to 1/2î diameter) with a yellow beak. Crabapples mature in fall and persist on the tree into winter. Birds are attracted to the fruit. Ovate dark green leaves (to 3î long) produce little fall color. Charcoal-gray bark has character.
