An improved Milan turnip; the roots are very flat, white with purple tops. The flavor is sweet and mild. A good variety for marketing. Popular in Italy, the Milan turnip is a 19th century Italian heirloom.

Best grown as an autumn crop, planted a 4-8 weeks before first frost of fall. Sow in place, covering the seed no more than a quarter inch or so. Thin the plants to stand at least 4-6 inches apart in all directions.
