Dark-green, glossy, elongated, thickly savoyed leaves on pale-green petioles. Resistant to heat and cold. 21 days for baby harvest, 45 days mature.
Sow as soon as the soil can be worked in the spring, and then again in the fall for a winter crop. Plant ¼ to ½ inch (6 mm to 1 cm) deep, 6 inches (15 cm) apart, in 18 inch (45 cm) rows. Seeds will germinate within 2 weeks. When they reach 4 inches (10 cm) tall, space to 6 inches (15 cm). Harvest leaves in a cut-and-come-again style and eat fresh.
