Japanese maple is a multi-stemmed shrub or single-stemmed small tree that typically grows to 10-25 tall. General plant form is rounded to broad-rounded, often with low-branching. ëOshio-beni typically grows 12-18 tall with a spreading form. Palmate, 7-lobed leaves (to 3î long) emerge bright orange-red in spring but fade to bronze-green by summer. Fall color is scarlet (cultivar name means great red tide).
