A Kansas (mostly) heirloom vegetable and herb garden. The garden is being started indoors at my home and will then move to a plot at Countryside Community Garden just down the street.

They have been huge (and tasty)! Unfortunately, most of our plants are now dead - taken by borers and squash bugs. |

This weekend we made garden ratatouille over polenta. Every ingredient came from a garden in my town (pop. 14,000), except for the garlic, olive oil, cheese and polenta. Ratatouille is one of my favorite dishes and, served over polenta, it's a creamy, tasty and healthy meal. |

Just collected another huge harvest of chard. The local food bank is open tomorrow afternoon, so half of it will go there. The other half will get fried in some olive oil in a saute pan!

Yes, it has been a hot one. 90 degrees in Wisconsin on Thursday. You don't hear of that too often up here in the month of June. You have a wonderful garden. I will enjoy reading your posts on your garden show. |
