| Looks good. Your zucchinis look like mine... Big! :) :) I really like them this size, as I use alot of zucchini. |
| They have been huge (and tasty)! Unfortunately, most of our plants are now dead - taken by borers and squash bugs. |
Some of my plants have been dying, I do not see bug damage, but maybe that is it. I have seen squash bugs. :( On the other hand, I have lots of plants and I have zucchini coming out of m... more ยป |
| Garden Ratatouille over Polenta Jul 30, 2012 | ||
|
|
This weekend we made garden ratatouille over polenta. Every ingredient came from a garden in my town (pop. 14,000), except for the garlic, olive oil, cheese and polenta. Ratatouille is one of my favorite dishes and, served over polenta, it's a creamy, tasty and healthy meal.
| This sounds really good... I know it sounds odd, but I have never had this before. I think it is time to change that. Thanks for the recipe.! |
| Hope you enjoy it! It really is a simple recipe and very delicious, especially after it's set overnight and the flavors have fully melded. |

Just collected another huge harvest of chard. The local food bank is open tomorrow afternoon, so half of it will go there. The other half will get fried in some olive oil in a saute pan!

100+ degree weather since Sunday and lasting through this Saturday. It was up to 109 yesterday. So far the garden is holding up nicely.
|
| Yes, it has been a hot one. 90 degrees in Wisconsin on Thursday. You don't hear of that too often up here in the month of June. You have a wonderful garden. I will enjoy reading your posts on your garden show. |

After noting previously how friends' tomatoes would quickly overpower their cages and topple over, I went on the hunt for a new method of trellising that would stand up to my tomato plants as they grew.

A Kansas (mostly) heirloom vegetable and herb garden. The garden is being started indoors at my home and will then move to a plot at Countryside Community Garden just down the street.
