Gardening since 2011

2011 brought about a number of much anticipated changes in my life. I retired from the "ball and chain" desk job and now am full-time grandmother, "GG" to our first grandchild. My husband and I have aprox. 3 backyard acres to cultivate and each weekend, weather permitting, we are working in the yard if we choose to not go play for the day.

We enjoy riding the Harley through the Texas Hill Country on the weekends, wine tasting, boating, finding new places to eat organic local food, and shopping at the local farmer's markets.

My chickens are such a hoot and I love spoiling them, and they in return, take turns sitting on my lap to show their appreciation. Of course, with the exception of Hawkeye the Roo, who must maintain his "maleness" and dignity. As of 2011, I am a committe member of the Austin Funky Chicken Coop Tour committee and the Austin Backyard Poultry Meetup Group. I am a bonafide crazy chicken lady and proud of it :)

My gardening skills are evolving daily, as such is my life, and I embrace the bliss that I am so richly blessed with each new day.
