Garden year 1!

Feb 29, 2012
So I'm new at gardening in Idaho. I've had luck growing things in Utah and a small amount in Colorado, so we'll see how I fare in Idaho! Currently my garden is an area that has not ever been used as a garden so as soon as the snow melts and the ground unfreezes I'll have a lot of tilling and working compost into the soil to hopefully get it ready enough to grow a little bit of something. We are renting our house currently and may move before I can harvest some later crops so I may not even plant them :( We shall see what plans bring. Wish me luck, and if we do move, I hope to inspire a garden for the next tenant!

I agree with tallulahshines!  Hopefully, you get to stay long enough to harvest whatever you decide to grow in your garden.  A double good luck to you!!

Where in Utah?  I lived in Hurricane, next to St. George for about a year.  It was very hard to have a garden there as it was sooooooo hot and soooooo windy.  I tried, but other than a hanging basket of tomatoes, that was it.
Love it here, as everything grows ( washington)  I wish you all the luck in Idaho, I am sure it will be great for gardening there.

Thank you all! @JMTKMS, it was right smack dab in the middle of the state in Sigurd (by Richfield). Washington has always been a dream of mine to live in. Maybe someday!
