Hi Lisa.  Yes I have to agree with you about the Daylilies.  I've only just become a fan ... planted my first ones last year and had some brilliant blooms during our Spring.  Unfortunately I have no more room to plant more of these lovelies!  Maybe ... pots!

Anyway, the flower in my avatar is the bloom of a native tree that grows in the bushland surrounding my home.  It's the Planchonia careya or Cocky Apple Tree and it's not available in nurseries here.  It's a straggly looking tree, not very pretty and the blooms only open up around 4.00 pm in the afternoon and they drop by the next morning.  Unless you know about this tree, you'd miss the beautiful flowers altogether!

Thanks for the info on your interesting native plant...guess I won't look for it along the roadsides of Nashville, Tennessee!! But I love to learn about something new & interesting.
