Look at the baby birds!    What kind are they?    So sweet.    I'm at the edge of 7a, almost a 7b so we may be a little ahead of your season.    Love the forsythia.

The little birds are robins. Both mama birds built nests in very exposed locations, but the babies continue to thrive thanks to a little human intervention and protection. I'm in zone 7 too. Believe it or ... (more)

Gorgeous garden! I love the sedum aizoon. Sedum is one of my fave perennials but I'd never seen this variety; I love the red stems and yellow flowers! And those radishes look absolutely delicious! Can't wait to see more!

Thanks for the kinds words, Monel and Katie. I grew the Sedum aizoon from seed obtained from the RHS seed exchange (they always have super cool seed!). It's lovely, tough stuff.

You were prescient -- Amsonia hubrichtii won the top award for perennials from the PPA, not for 2010 but for 2011!  You are way ahead of your time!
