My meeting with Rori!

By: Clenram
Mar 28, 2012
RoriTx Actually beat my post about our meeting on her site here:http://www.yourgardenshow.com/users/RoriTx/gardens/east-texas/activities/81088She said her granddaughter  Laynie, (just turned two) "was not on her best behavior."  I have to disagree! Laynie was fun, energetic and beautiful!  Layine was very patient with two women that talked for over an hour!  You could tell that Laynie and Rori have a great relationship.  I know that they have many fun adventures together!  Rori said that she is teaching Laynie to work in the garden.  I could imagine both of them laughing and having so much fun picking and planting.   Rori's garden:East Texas  at Linden, TX is a fun site to visit here on YGS.  Rori is also a very interesting person.  She was raised in California but loves East Texas and is very happy with her home there.  Her husband can do plumbing and electrical work besides working in the oil industry.  They have worked and improved her home until it is just what she likes.  She has a new shed, but it caused her to move her garden and she is working on getting the soil's fertility just the way she wants it.  She has started planting more form seeds than from already started plants.  She is excited about the seeds she has planted this year.  She also has chickens.Rori was the head chef at a local restaurant before she hung up her apron.  She has trained under a well known chef.  (sorry I don't remember his name...but he has written several books) (Rori and I are pretty sure he has put a couple of her recipes in his books)  Rori enjoys using her cooking talents with her home grown vegetables. I certainly enjoyed meeting Rori!

@Clenram: I've finished the first book about your mother's life growing up. I only wish your grandfather was around to ask the hundred's of questions I have about fruit trees. A very smart man ahead of his time when it came to improving the soil!
