@Liz:  I tried to make a replica out of clay once...I used a garlic press to make the purple part...

pretty!  I saw so many of these in the hill country fields near my parent's house...they were so tall & beautiful sticking out above the other tall wildflowers...I really wanted to get a photo of them against the blue sky...maybe next time!
