I've been a gardener since the age of 3 (with my dad's influence). I now live on 5 acres in "the original Down East" of NC. Although 2 acres were wooded and 3 acres were nothing but lawn when we moved here 13 years ago, I now still have the 2 wooded acres but have changes the remaining 3 into a 1-acre orchard, a 1-acre wildflower meadow and a 1-acre vegetable garden with chickens and an apiary.
