I am 12 years old and I LOVE companion planting. Companion planting is were you can grow plants next to each other and one would help the other one. But not everything you can plant together. Carrots you can plant next to tomatoes, the tomatoes make a pesticide type toxin that keeps bugs away from carrots. One thing you can't plant together is celery and corn. They can't be put together because of the yellow aster disease. There is something for every plant its really neat to learn about. :)
I am also organic. I never use ANY pesticides!!!

We're trying to grow as much of our own food as we can. It's year 1 on this property. After an almost rainless winter, our small continuous harvest feels gratifying. But it's only the tip of the iceberg.
