Not just growing an organic garden with fruits, veggies and various ornamentals, but also growing 3 little boys! Recently, we picked up 4 baby chicks and we are looking foward to fresh eggs, great compost and wonderful pest control! Last year was my first time seriously gardening with fruits and veggies, I've been growing ornamentals since we bought our house in 2009. I canned fresh tomato sauce and peaches from our own yard, and this year I'm looking forward to some crazy pickling and the addition of three more fruit trees to our little suburban lot. I have been purchasing heirloom and open pollinated seeds, but I had so many left last year that I didn't save any from what I harvested. So far those leftover seeds have sprouted with no problem, but in hindsight I really should have saved from the harvest just in case something happened to them. This year I will add seed saving to my to do list!
