Gardening since 1993
Through my business (Gardenerd) I teach people how to grow their own food. I do classes, consulting and food garden design.  I have been growing most of my own produce since 1993 and specialize in small space, bio-intensive gardening.  As a vegetarian for the same amount of time (coincidence? I think not.) I love making healthy meals from the garden.

Christy, You certainly have a lot of knowlege!  The Master Gardener design... is quite involved here in Texas.  In order to be a Master Gardener here you have to have 50 hours of community service each year. Do you have the same requirements in Cali?  I am not a MG.  But have freinds who are in Fort Bend County. I do have an Organic Backyard garden. I love it!

@BeeGuiled: I hesitated to put master gardener, but since it was in lower case, I used it. I'm not officially a Master Gardener, but I teach people how to grow their own food. In fact, I get a lot of Master Gardeners in my classes who say that they learned more from me than the program they took.  That said, it's a wonderful program and if I had the time (wasn't always teaching) I would probably take it.  The requirements sound similar for CA as Texas.  I've been a volunteer board member at my local community garden for the past 12 years, so community service hours have never been a problem.  It's just making it to class.  :-)
