This is my 12 x 17 foot garden where I test out new varieties and experiment with new growing techniques. In recent years, I've grown popping corn, quinoa, garbanzo beans, brown mustard seed, "coastal" tomatoes, Cavolo Broccolo a Getti di Napoli (broccoli that you grow for the leaves), and newly discovered heirloom squash and lettuce varieties. I primarily use two methods of growing: Grow BioIntensive and Square Foot Gardening. Getting the most out of our growing space is paramount here in Los Angeles, so these techniques help us accomplish high yields in small spaces. Each year, I grow 4 different varieties...
