Greenhouse Observations
May 26, 2012

I planted my peas 3 weeks apart to try and stagger my harvest, but have notices 3 of the 6 plantings all have flowers at the same time. for the past 2 weeks we have enjoyed the young flat pods in stir-fry meals as well as fresh off the plant. It is challenging to track productivity when we keep eating them before I can bring them into the house to weigh the harvest....oh well such is life!!!
We have picked peas for 3 meals and there were approximately 2lbs total; I have no idea how much my youngest son and I ate versus what went into the colander. Tracking the spring & green onions and leeks eaten is easier. So far I have harvested 24 leeks, 30 green onions and spring onions.
The 3 strawberry beds are in full bloom and loaded with green berries; time to add the netting...I have seen 2 bright yellow birds (I believe they are wax wings) eye balling the future treats.
