aphids and small grey slugs in garden May 13, 2012

The slugs and aphids are showing up early in my garden; I usually do not have much of a problem with the aphids until June, and the slugs are usually only around until the weather turns dry and warm.

I have seen 2 lady bugs but need to grow whatever plants will make them come eat the aphids before they ruin my roses and other... ...see more

I started seeing aphids last weed (5/2/12)  I washed them off, but saw new ones yesterday so now I will use a soap mixture to remove them.  I typically do not see them until later in the month.  These ones are green with wings; when I see the black wingless ones, I know they are being farmed by the ants.
