Update
|
| Starting. Things are incredibly behind where they were last year. I'm very worried about my long season watermelons. They may not ripen in time. |

I picked two ripe King of the North Peppers. I didn't take pictures because they were a bit smaller than typical, and having ripened early I thought they might have bugs in them - turns out they were good :)
|
| Peppers are the only thing I have picked today everything else has died with the high temperatures. Glad you didn't have bugs. |

1/4 acre plot with fruit trees and a large garden with seven 10x4ft beds and 150+ spots for melons, squash and other large plants. I focus rather heavily on tomatoes, sweet peppers, watermelon, muskmelon, cucumbers, and beans.pH is around 7.8, soil is clay but has a healthy amount of compost mixed in. Irrigation is via micro irrigation on a timer and is liberal. The majority of my plot has unobstructed sun from sunup to sundown and is located in a very wide valley between two mountain ranges so light is not a problem. My beds are mulched with paper, and I mulch between the larger plants with UV stabilized vinyl...
