| I am in the first suburb north of Chicago. It was in the low to mid 50's today with quite a breeze, which kept it cooler. At least it was sunny for most of the day. |

These are so easy to grow. The purple Helleborus is new, just planted last year. The other Helleborus I've had in the same spot for 10 years now. I don't do anything to it. Helleborus seems to like part su... more ยป |

| i was going to look for lungwort this year at the nursery. I'm not sure if I can grow helleborus as a perennial in zone 6a or not. Sure is beautiful. |

My gardens began in earnest in 1990. I began tearing up the backyard and over the years it has undergone many transformations..., including a major renovation in the summer of 2011. I then began tearing up the front lawn and eventually created six perennial beds in the front of the house. I've got plants all around the house - no grass in sight. I consider gardening a work in progress. It's never finished. It's just too much fun to play in the dirt and see things grow.
