New to me. Benthamidia japonica var. chinensis. Crinkled leaves with white edges. Cascading, tiered form. Flowers, white stars, like Kousa dogwood. Listed as a nut tree by a source I saw. Really? |

Not my garden...a splendid young public garden in Boothbay Harbor, Maine, located in the mid-coast region, where the glaciers scraped the granite clean and gouge north-south canyon spaced close together that give the coast its characteristic topography of long, narrow peninsulas starting at the mainland and running south into the ocean, separated by equally long, narrow bays where the salt sea rises and falls six feet in the daily tides.
