Not my garden...a splendid young public garden in Boothbay Harbor, Maine, located in the mid-coast region, where the glaciers scraped the granite clean and gouge north-south canyon spaced close together that give the coast its characteristic topography of long, narrow peninsulas starting at the mainland and running south into the ocean, separated by equally long, narrow bays where the salt sea rises and falls six feet in the daily tides. On the shallow soils, the main trees are white cedars and the shrubs are wild blueberries. In spite of long winters, many more plants are at home in this region and this public...
