Well, I'm proud of my homemade re-bar tower (with a recycled finial from an iron fence) but I'm more proud that this Spring for the first the Clematis jackmanii climbed all to the top. It's hard to photograph the whole from bottom to top so you'll have to take my word for it that the clematis covered a lot of the tower and make a kind of purple-flower column. That's a thrill.

Looks beautiful against the deep green!

@PrinceSnow: Doesn't it? A great moment. By the way, 3/8 inch re-bar is by far the most useful garden raw material I know. You need a way to cut it. I use compound-action bar cutters, but a sawzall with a hacksaw blade works fine. You can make stakes for lilies that want to flop, towers like this one, arches for row cover fabric, on and on. I use a pipe bender to curve the stuff. See how the top of the tower has two curves, one inward, one upward? I drew a template on cardboard to make all four legs with the same curves.
