And this is 'Palace Purple' again, showing that the leaf color (on top) is closer to green than to purple, at least when seen on mildly cloudy day. The bits of purplish-red appear at the edges of the leaves. I should add that when the leaves are starting to rise in early Spring( like in the first two photos) their color is a very rich, eye-catching purplish red. The green tinge comes in when the leaves are full-size and stiffening.
