The cluster of yellow leaves with red veins that I posted a few days ago (see below) now looks like this. Notice that the big flower bud has companions on each side. All three will eventually reach the same size, maybe next week, unless it's sooner because our weather is so weirdly warm (81 degrees F as I type).

What a great pic! My Mardi Gras Apricot Hellebore finally has buds too. I just got the Nikon L22 camera in the mail a few days ago, so I'll have to play with it and get some photos of it too. Thanks for the great advice! :)

@Queen_of_Green: I'm looking forward to your first photos with the new camera. It's a great camera but I needed two years of shooting to learn what it can do. Like all cameras, white flowers or bright backgrounds can fool it and you get an image that's way dark, or too dark in places. The remedy is to find a green leaf or a patch of grass near your subject, push the shutter release part of the way down and hold it while the camera focuses and sets the exposure, then without lifting your finger from the shutter release, go back to your subject and shoot the photo. Small note: when you find a green leaf or a patch of grass hold the camera at the same distance you know it will be when you return the subject. Hope that's clear.

@Groundskeeper: I am going to try the green leaf idea!  I also found that to the left of the button that says ok is a button that you can adjust light.  I think I got this one too dark though http://www.yourgardenshow.com/users/Clenram/gardens/ramos-disorganized-garden/slideshow/75989?referrer=photo-4...so the green leaf would have probably worked better.

@Queen_of_Green: You might have noticed that I like sharing what I know about photography. I've taught workshops at most of the big boranical gardens and many smaller venues and I love see folks light up with understanding.

@Groundskeeper: Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge! You have helped me a lot, and if you could see my face right now it is lighting up! :)
