I missed this photo when I put together "Streetside" (below). It's the far end, the high end, of the streetside garden. A handsome marker and a tribute to neighborhood pride. I wonder a lot about the curving slab of limestone on the left side. Des Moines has an old stone company, Rowat, that cuts limestone with a giant diamond saw. I don't how but somehow Rowat cuts curves and moldings. Some of it gets done with power tools--chisels and rasps.
