Many hands make light work. Saturday morning, cool and breezy. We lopped off all the stalks of last year's perennials and the cannas, chopped them into pieces and spread the pieces for mulch. All the same we also ended up with five bags of clipping we couldn't find room to recycle without smothing the bulbs that are rising now. All neighbors, all volunteers. We get to know each other a bit, figure which is whose house and trade garden talk.
