My love for the community has encouraged me to enhance my knowledge in gardening. I'm an active volunteer in many programs, but my heart is drawn to helping feed the hungry and less fortunate. Being a recipricant of food banks with nearly all packaged and processed foods, has shown me that there is a real need for fresh produce in the low income community. Income should not be a factor in healthy eating. Everyone should be able to experience the quality of fresh food. My long term goals include a nonprofit organization whos mission is to raise food for local food banks and to eventually have a piece of land that would be a "living farm" open to the community. We all can do a little, but lets do a lot!
