Yep.  After the tomato seedling disaster, I gave up and ordered live heirloom plants from Seed Savers Exchange.

I have two of each plant:

Cherokee Purple tomatoes
German Pink tomatoes
Italian Heirloom tomatoes
Ancho Gigantea peppers
Jimmy Nardello peppers
Bull Nose Bell peppers

Hopefully this will prove much easier than growing the... ...see more

Sounds like a great selection and I hope they work out better for you.  So sad to hear the seedlings did not work out.  :(

Sorry, but I couldn't help myself from laughing when I first read your post. I hope you still have some seeds so you can try again. Just don't give up!

LOL!  Almost put coffee through my nose.

Sorry about your tomatoes. Luckily there is a lot of re-grow time left :)

Love your sense of humor - been there ... done that ... some varieties are more picky than others - I still have no luck with Cherokee Purple.  You can still re-try with some seeds for later planting but ready-to-plant is great idea.
Grrr cold Mar 26, 2012

Ok.  Last night was about 35 degrees and tonight is supposed to hover at 32.  I covered both my new astilbe and the growing rhubarb plants and mulched a barrier around the edges to make sure neither freeze.

It is supposed to warm back up later in the week.

I hear ya!  Monday the 26th was a bad night for us in CNY.  My husband and I covered up our one peach tree in sheets in a desperate attempt to keep the frost off.  We hit 20 degrees! ... more »

Rake! Mar 20, 2012
Activity-icon-status

How I hate raking out the stupid rock garden!

On the bright side:  peonies are stalked up, trilliums and lily of the valley are leafing out, and the tulips are just waiting to flower.

This does not mention the ditch lillies laying seige to the yard...and winning.  It seems I have lost almost a foot of lawn to these border-hopping... ...see more

My first sprout!!! Mar 19, 2012
Activity-icon-status

Yay.  Today I have my first seedling taking root!  Hooray for abnormal weather.  I've left my sprouting pots outside since it has been so warm--even at night.  Apparently, it--and the warm days--have been doing much to kick off the sprouting process.

This is a Musquee de Provence winter squash (c. moschata) from Baker Creek.... ...see more
