My kids love to boil eggs for sandwiches, but with having a rooster in the yard with our hens... some eggs, if gathered late, could be "yucky".  I saw these egg cups at the dollar store, 1$ for 6 cups... more »

No, they cleaned up quite easily... but I did cut my finger on the threads, which does not shock me since they are a dollar store item. I am still going to get some more. I just put a dab of oil in each ... more »

Wow, how did the garden hold up in that heat?
JMTKMS replied 5 days ago
So far so good. We watered like crazy and everything, including the weeds, seemed to enjoy the burst of heat. I think the garden may have fared better than us, we were exhausted in the heat. :)
Volunteer weeds are getting me down! May 14, 2013

Last year we really had a great gardening experience... But, part of that experience is coming back to haunt me now.  We let many plants go to seed, which we usually did not do.  Now, we have millions of volunteer Carrots, lettuce, tomatoes, beans and more coming up all over the garden.  The tilling has spread the fallen seeds...

Ramos' Disorganized Garden started this, and it got me trying to rhyme everything... then I came up with this:

Daily Routine

Coffee in the morning,
to wake me for the day!
Gardening now awaits me,
     weeding, planting and spray!
Oh, Wait....
Where did my coffee go,
I search and rant and rave!
And then, of course,... ...see more

Gary knows when gardening time hit because our coffee cups start to disappear and you have to do a walk through of my day to find it. Fence post, chicken feed where ever I have a garden ADD moment.

Here we go again, the tilling is just about finished and we have a few beds planted.  Now, I need to find the energy to get out and weed.  I weeded the onion garden today, though there are a few that I left for next time.  I hope to get to the garlic garden tomorrow.  The main garden only has a few rows planted and actually... ...see more

John name him that because of his big feet. I am not sure which name will stick, but we kinda use both right now. He is a fun litte guy and so far he thinks gardening is when everyone comes out to play with him... :) :)
