He is beautiful!  I only have 2 hens, but we love our girls!

Yes, we love our girls... and we love the boys too, but there are two of them and we are not thinking that is going to work.  They are beginning to fight all the time.  We really only wanted one rooster, but one of the hen chicks turned out to be a boy.  Too bad we can't "fix" one of them.

Thats funny you said that - we tried to get hens back in 2010 from this guy - he 'thought' he caught all hens for us, they were young - and told us if any crowed to just bring it back...  well 1 did then took it back brought another one home and ended up all 3 (even new one) crowed...  allllll roos!  So we had to catch them all which was not easy.. and just took them back and said no thanks and then ordered day old chicks the following spring - that was much more fun anyhow since they are so freakin cute when babies.  But when we had the roos they were nice and my partner said "think we could just take them to the vet and get fixed?"  She is a city turning country girl..... =)

@PYehl:  Too funny.  I guess it really is hard to tell for sure which is which.  But when you buy from a feed store that just has them all in bins, and little kids are picking them up and hugging them as they walk..... then put them back in what ever bin is near it really mixes the chances.  I guess we will have to wait a bit to see if we can keep both, (they are both beautiful), or we will have to make a decision.

@JMTKMS:Guess you could have chicken for dinner.  =/   My partner is a vegetarian so our girls are just for pets with the added benefit of eggs.  I only eat meat if we are out to eat  - which isn't very often so I guess i'm a part time vegetarian myself.

@PYehl: We eat meat, we even raise pork and beef, but the rooster is a pet and the kids can pick up either one of them and play with them.  It would be hard to have him for dinner.  Plus I dont think he has much meat... just feathers.  If we have to part with one, we will put him up on craigslist and try to find him a good home.  Both of our rooster are beautiful, they look like "storybook" roosters.  Maybe they all look this outstanding, as I do not see many, but they are both very interesting to watch and listen to.

@KittyCorral:  He is our only rooster now.  We had to sell the other one because his was fighting.
