This was this winter and the frozen leaves were the oddest thing I have every seen.  The leaves were all frozen, then ice crystals began forming around the edges.  I am surprised the tree branches could hold the weight... they looked very heavy.

That's amazing. Was that the ice storm we had in March? It very beatiful, but I am amazed all of that ice didn't damage the trees! :)

No, it was during the fall, it was the previous years leaves, not the new ones.  It was strange the leaves had not fallen yet.  Guess that is why it was so unique... usually there would not have been any leaves.  It was really spectacular to see, as there are about 10 trees and they all were beautiful.

@JMTKMS: I'll bet it was spectacular! I think the ice storms are really beautiful too, but they do so much damage! I am still cutting up broken limbs from my neighbors Sweet Gum trees, that fell into my back yard during the Ice Storm last month. At least i will have some firewood! :)

@Queen_of_Green:  Fire wood is a good thing.  But boy am I tired of heating all winter with it, so glad spring is here.  I wish the weather did not require an air conditioner, I think I dislike them even more than burning wood, but it is a necessity.  We have a cinder block house, it stays cool all day then cooks you all night, not very good for my Asthma and breathing ....  Bummer.
Queen_of_Green replied about 1 year ago
@JMTKMS: That's understandable! Cinder block houses hold a lot of heat! I lived in one in Boise, when I was in college, and to this day I can't stand the smell of dill! The cinder blocks absorbed scents like crazy, and my roommate decided to can mass quantities of dill pickles that summer. The house, our clothes, our shoes, everything.. smelled like dill for months! And it was HOT in the summer, because we didn't have air conditioning back then. I can only imagine how that would be hard for anyone with Asthma!

@Queen_of_Green:  I wish you had some great ideas on how to make it cooler.  I am going to check into better insulation this year... but I do not think that will really do it.  Cinderblock is a bummer... it promotes mold also! :( :(
Queen_of_Green replied about 1 year ago
@JMTKMS: I would think insulation would help somewhat, at least. The mold is bad though! :(

@Queen_of_Green:  If only I coud (buy a ticket) win the lotto...  and build a beautiful house!  Just seems to be very hard to do.  :)  Oh well, you just have to make do with what you have.  I am happy.

@JMTKMS: It's nice to dream... But at least we are happy with what we've got! :)
