I planted Rapine broccoli because I had such problems with aphids on regular broccoli, I thought that if the shoots produced quicker maybe I could beat the bug. Now that it is growing, I realize That the plant is entirely different looking than regular broccoli and it also seems to maybe have different bug attractions.... The leaf damage from bugs on the regular broccoli, brussels, cabbage and cauliflower is quite different than the Rapini. I am going to watch these plants daily to try and find the culprit bugs. I am not going to spray them, yet, since the damage is minimal and I do want to "see" the culprits. My hope is that the Rapini will be aphid free and maybe bring me a more successful... with less bug problems. Lets keep our fingers crossed! :) :)
