Our lilac with a helper! :)

Citizen scientist, guess I will be one!

Well, I clicked the Citizen Science button on the top of the screen to see what it was all about.  I guess, since I keep saying "We the people need to do more to help this world", I should participate in this project.  It seems like it will be really easy and also kinda fun, just have to go out and make some observations.
I am currently signed up for the Lilac project...  Still need to read all the details, as I signed up right at dinner time, and could not finish reading everything.  But I have a lilac in my yard so I felt it was my duty to report. There is another project on Sunflowers, and I believe counting Bees, I do not have any sunflowers right now, but will have some soon.  So, I plan to check this project out today also and see if I can get started before the sunflowers get growing.
I hope to learn more and be able to participate fully, as it sounds like great research is being done and it is one small thing I can do to help!
I know some of you are already participating, are you having fun?  I hope so, I want to make it a family adventure and get my kids to do it with me!  Happy gardening and reporting, fellow scientists!!    :) :) :)

I haven't figures it out yet.  Have started several times but have not put time into it yet.  I think if I was still a science teacher I would really get into it with my students.

It would be a great school project.  I will have to figure it all out, then maybe show it to one of my Daughters teachers.  Problem is they would be out of school for the summer, but some kids might really like to keep it up.  So hard to tell what is "cool" these days.

I participate in the great sunflower project and another. at least I did before it became more convenient by going on YGS. I need to mark my plants so I know which ones to report on. You can also count bees on other pants to. I haven't even planted sunflowers yet.

@puckamok:  I am still confused as to how it all works, but I did go "observe" my lilac bush today.  I still need to read/listen to the rest of the info on the page.  I want to do he Sunflower project... I think that is counting bees, right.  I should do to allergy one, because we have so many plant allergies that it would be nice to feel like we are helping.  It is interesting, I hope I stay focused and do a good job.
