Well, even though I "know" I planted the right seeds, I must have mixed things up.  I have a row of prickly seeded Amsterdam spinach, and a row of beets.  Both were planted on the same day at the same time.  The "spinach" plants are 3 times as big as the "beet" plants.... yet they look identical.  I pulled up a "Spinach", picture to the right, and it really looks like a beet root, I think.  Oh well, the greens are edible, and if it is beets... then I will eat the roots too.  But I did plant more of both of them today, so my test is started to figure out exactly who is who.
