Sunburn for a Sunny Day.

By: JMTKMS
May 15, 2012
Guess I started my weeding just a bit later than I should have this morning.  I can feel the slight burn on the back of my arms and shoulders.  It was beautiful and warm out, I enjoyed it very much, but I better be more careful on how long I stay out.  I wish I had an Aloe Vera plant.  I would really like to start researching making lotions and soaps.  Right now I am thinking a nice lotion would be really great....  Well it is 10:30 pm here, so I think I will find a little lotion an worry about everything else tomorrow, after a good nights sleep!  :)

Sunscreen and lotion! Both so very necessary. If we are doing so much good for our bodies, gardening and eating well, why should our skin have to suffer from it. I just want a nice healthy glow, inside and out.

@YourGardenShow:  Yes, mom.  You are so right. :) :)  I just have never had to worry about sunburn in my lifetime,  till now.  Guess its age, or maybe there are more harmful rays.  But I know now that I better get some sun screen, which until yesterdaay, was really not needed.

I never go out to work in the sun without my big strawhat. Helps keep the sun off my face and neck plus makes being out in the sun bearable. Of course the granddaughters would prefer I not ever wear it in public.

@RoriTx:  Yes, I can see the hat in my mind, and I can see the grand-daughters giggling.  I really have a hard time with hats... they have always given me headaches.  But I will have to get a nice loose fitting, maybe straw, hat and give it a try.  I need something to make my grand kids giggle too!  I really do try to get my weeding done in the early morning, before the sun gets too hot, but as yesterday showed me, I do make mistakes.  Today is supposed to be 94, so I better beware!  :) :)

@RoriTx: I too can imagine the hat.  But it is very important - even I wear one ... and I hate hats.  Lots of sunscreen too ...

@vanna516:  Yes, I have taken heed to the warnings.  I ran out and did my weeding very early.  Now I am doing things inside to stay out of the heat of the sun.  I hope to go get sunscreen tonight... the hat may have to wait till I can get to a "real" store in the "big" town.  :)

Ah. Weeding! Is it possible for anyone EVER to just walk out their door and NOT see something that needs to be pulled out of the ground. And just like a bags of chips---you can't just have one.

@KittyCorral:  Too funny!
