Dreary day, still plenty to do...

Well, It is overcast today, but the garden is still calling!  We have raspberries that are needing their feet cleaned... they are planted on the "field" fence and we need to go on the farmer side and clear all the weeds and "what not".  The farmers do not spray for weeds behind our house, as they understand we are Organic Gardeners.  It is nice that they are so understanding.  They really try not to spray anything next to our property line.  They "family" feeling that is in this valley is really overwhelming at times.  Everyone really tries hard to help there neighbor when ever they can, it is so different than when we lived in the busy city.       Guess, I better get off this computer, and get busy... the kids are starting to stare at me...:) :) :)   See you all later, hope you have an enjoyable day.  :)

Hi...I just wanted to say I told you the wrong time for the eclipse earlier.  It starts 5:05 in your neck of the woods, and about 5:25 here in SoCal.  It will peak here at about 6:38...so I guess it takes about an hour to get into full position.   Northern Cal will have the most total complete view of this annular eclipse.

We were not able to notice anything....bummer.  But it is still nice to know about it.  Were you able to see it?  I hope so.  Hey, do you know Mom's recipe for Hot bacon dressing, for spinach salad??  The one I made for dinner did not taste right.  :)

Yes, we could tell it was happening but it was not like the eclipse I told you about when we were up there when VG was a baby.  I think I burnt my left eye though.  I did not mean to look at it but did.  It hurts and is watering.  If it is like this tomorrow, i am going to the doctor.  No, I don't really remember mom making spinach with bacon dressing.  I remember her saying she hated buying fresh spinach because it was so hard to clean and get all the sand out.  Hydroponics had not become commercial yet.

@Teregram:  I am worried about your eye.  That is kinda scary.  My spinach is not sandy and this year it is bug free.  But, I remember Mom making a dressing, and having it in a restaurant or two and it was awesome.  Actually ordered it on the top of the Space Needle once also... when I took Amy.  I will look for another recipe.
Hydroponics is kinda cool, another thing to "want" to look in to.
