Tired out after a long weekend!

Long Fun Memorial Day Weekend! I am tired.... :) :)

We all had things to do this week end.  Morissa did some spring cleaning on Saturday, then off to the Rodeo for Sunday and Monday.  She had fun and adventure with her friend.  Sam went with George and helped in the fields on Monday.  He got to drive the quad and a dirt bike.  He changed water lines and helped where ever needed.  Sometimes "helping" George is more "Fun" than work.  Sam helped clean the garage on Saturday, and boy are we collecting a lot of junk in there.  Good to clear some out.  We worked on the new garden expansion and have it mostly planted.  The garden that got the "over spray" of Round up  has been viewed, and is now on my list to get cleaned up.  We will pull all the dead plants and re-till the garden.  Round up is supposed to be non-harmful with in 3 days of spraying.  I do not like the fact that it is there, I do not feel that just because they tell me its okay, that it is.  But I do know that with re-tilling and re-planting an taking care of everything with organic methods here on out, it is still better than GMO'd store bought veggies.  So, I will start working it today.

I wouldn't throw them in the compost.

@RoriTx:  No, I think I will put them in the burn barrel.  But it will be nice to get them out of the garden.... they are so depressing.  Gosh, I went out this morning and those darn ants are being more bothersome.  They do look like they are deceasing ... the pepper garden, maybe the Diatomaceous soil is working, but now they are covering the bean plants in the front yard.  I sprinkled them this morning.  If it is not one thing, it seems to always be another.  I just want it to be harvest time.  I love complaining about being too busy... but I hate worrying ... how the harvest will be.  This really seems to be "quite the different year".

Is the ant impact visable, like are they clearly eating away the vegetation? Seems odd they would be so prevalent this year. I bet it is because of your peony explosion.

@Teregram:  There are "no" ants in the peony garden???  But I have them everywhere else!  Crazy, huh?  They were teeny tiny guys, but I guess they do grow up, cause now they are about a quarter inch long.  I just spread diatomaceous soil on the ones in the front, on the bean plants.  I cant really tell if they are eating the beans or what, but they are crawling all over them.  in back they are swarming the pepper rows and the tomato garden.  I just sat down to download a few pictures, then I am going to Google ants and get a variety of ways to kill them (organically) and see which works better.

@kaylaayrn:Well, we certainly never thought that we might be considered "farmers", but that goes to show you...that you never can tell...   We certainly "could" tink of you and T becoming farmers, with y'alls families...   :) :) :)
