    Volunteer turned into a pointed artichoke.. must have been a hybrid?

Is this normal, for an artichoke?  or is this guy mixed up?  It was a volunteer, so maybe the parent was a hybrid??

@JMTKMS: Some artichokes are pointed, even some of the heirlooms. The plant is small, but other than that it looks fine to me. Give it a shot of fertilizer & compost and it won't be small anymore...

Not much to eat there. Do you have other plants to compare to? Maybe he just needs to fill out some?

@Teregram:  It is a volunteer from last years, but last years did not look like this.  :)
