I'm a keen gardener who has been slowly learning how to do it better for the past 19 years here in the inner-city of Sydney, Australia. I also do a little blog called Garden Amateur - www.gardenamateur.blogspot.com - just for fun, but to earn a living I work on a gardening magazine as a sub-editor and occasional writer. I'm not a horticulturist or any kind of gardening expert. I'm more of a very keen, bumbling amateur who has managed to do all the dumb things, and hopefully has learnt from his mistakes as well. My darling wife Pam is a botanical illustrator, and together we share a great love of nature, music, food, wine and life.

We have a small garden (9m x 7.5m) in inner-city Sydney in Australia, and we pack in a lot of plants, herbs, vegies and flowers. My blog is called Garden Amateur.
