How long does it take for carrots to Germinate?
JMTKMS replied about 1 year ago
I was trying to look up how long mine took to sprout... But I am afraid that I cannot figure out how to use the YGS system for "looking back".  I find each year that the first carrots of the year take quite some time.  I think I generally plant early, and they just come up when the weather is right.  I think it took the ones I have popping up now, about 20+ days.  They are just barely sprouts and have not started any true leaves yet an they have been sprouted for about 4 days or so.  I figure true leaves should be here any day, so I will be planting my next round of them very soon.

Thanks! I was starting to get worried, I think they are taking their carrot sweet time.

I find that carrots and peppers just take their time and come up when ready.  I planted carrots every couple weeks last year and they all came up together, so this year I am waiting till i see the green, then maybe my harvest will be staggered.  Last year the animals got alot of carrots!

And I am happy for you!  Isn't gardening exciting.  Watching things sprout ... the anticipation before hand is really great!
