My husband saved all his Mt Dew Bottles for the last few months, I have been cutting them in half and using the bottoms as planters, which I have been moving this little soldiers in to. Thank you, I have been having tons of fun.
How awesome! Have you thought about using the tops of the cut in half bottles as little green houses to go over seedlings in the garden? I too live with many soda drinkers. i've been saving the boxes that the cans come in, and plan on flattening them to put in the garden to keepthe weeds down - hopefully it won't look too tacky! lol! whatever works :)
I have thought of using the tops as little green houses, I still have them saved. That is a great idea you have about the boxes, I might have to use that idea, I really dislike weeds. Have you started any seeds your self?
haha! I actually had the idea BECAUSE i am the world's laziest gardener. I figure if I cover them with enough straw, no one would ever notice the bright red coca-cola boxes lol. I've started a few tomatoes and peppers but not too many about ten of each! This beautiful weather has been driving me crazy!! Plus, seeing all these Texans around this site makes me so envious - and a little bitter about having to wait until May in zone 6! hahaha.
LOL I know the feeling, the Texans get their gardens in sooner, but they also get the extreme heat sooner. I have a small green house on my porch I put my plants in. I am also a very lazy gardener and I always am looking for ways to smother out those weeds. I also am in zone 6.
